Harness Materials

Because of the protection you want to give, choosing a material that is strong and provides comfort is necessary. The two major materials used in making harness are Nylon and polyester.

Nylon

Nylon has been used as a standard harness material for quite sometimes now. And its usage is quite popular.

Advantages

Nylon is generally soft and stretchy. And most nylon have break strength, this is due to the fact that they are very thick.

Disadvantages

The fact that nylon is a soft material makes it very difficult to withstand stretch in cases where extra weight is added on it. And nylon absorbs water easily, thereby not suitable for rainy season. Moistures makes nylon weaker and hence reduces its durability.

Polyester

This material is mostly used by manufactures in producing harness. And this is because they have lot of benefit attributed to them.

Advantages

Harnesses made from polyester material are usually of higher resistance. Compare to nylon they do not stretch. And they do not absorb water easily, this makes them durable and of higher quality.
